We are Bozeman’s premier women-centric community and coworking space. Sky Oro was created by and for real women, real humans — built to be the physical space and energetic network our community deserved. Founders Christina Calabrese and Amanda Diehl had both struggled with the sense of isolation and frustration of remote and rural work. They sought the support system and mutual encouragement of a dedicated community, something which simply can’t be built one coffee shop meeting at a time. Inspired by the coworking model building steam across the country, and encouraged by Bozeman’s wealth of female business leaders, they partnered to step up for the community and bring Sky Oro to life. Amanda and Christina led a hugely successful fundraising effort in which over 200 Bozeman women and men pooled funds to build the Sky Oro space. From day one, the women’s vision extended far beyond a coworking space and networking events — members quickly integrated their own creative vision and shared resources in different aspects of professional development, wellness and recreation, and social causes. Today, Sky Oro continues to thrive, always evolving to best serve the needs of its members here in the Bozeman community and beyond.
At Sky Oro, we co-embark on an exciting journey with personal growth at the core. We believe that what we do in the present moment manifests into future abundance. Everything we need is already within us — and Sky Oro exists to help unlock and amplify each individuals’ innate gifts and power. We are on a mission to help more humans discover and do what they were put on this earth to do.
Christina has had a lifelong interest in building communities. She earned her undergraduate degrees in both Architecture and French at the University of Virginia, where she focused on designing spaces to integrate isolated, disadvantaged communities in both the U.S. and abroad. This experience drove her into a graduate degree in urban planning at Harvard, where her thesis recommended designing the built environment by first understanding and documenting the people that are envisioned to live, work and play there.
Christina moved into a consulting role with Hart Howerton, an award winning design firm, that landed her in Big Sky working with the Lone Mountain Land Company, and eventually in the role of Director of Planning for LMLC. While she felt professionally fulfilled in this capacity, she felt comparatively isolated as a woman in real estate development, and as a professional woman in Big Sky. After attending several women-oriented professional events in Bozeman, she realized that a vibrant community of professional women exists, but there was not a dedicated space for them to gather, build friendships and grow together. From this desire, Sky Oro was born.
Amanda is a lover of experiences, people, the wild outdoors and spicy pad thai.. She grew up between Montana and the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, where she learned to value an adventurous life, and thrive in relatively unpredictable circumstances. Many of her childhood summers were spent on her grandparent’s farm in Townsend, MT, moving pipe (begrudgingly), playing in the fields with too many cousins to count and watching her grandparents offer their home as a welcome and safe haven for anyone passing through needing rest and a hot meal.
Fast forward to 2020, she holds a masters degree in public health, spent 5 years working as a consultant for a public health informatics company, loves being mama to a few wild children, opened and sustained her first business despite a pandemic and is fully aware that she is living her purpose on a daily basis.
Amanda believes wholeheartedly in the transformative power of human connection, and knows that when she is putting her energy there, the world is a better place for each of us. ❤️
